Watchmen Episode 1 so far

I'm pretty sure that huge ship was Nite Owl's ship. When we stopped watching I was very very intrigued and immersed in the world but not knowing who is who. The showing of the Tulsa Massacre is a great way to set the tone that this show is going to have and what topics they're going to tackle, along with I believe setting up that baby as someone important? The traffic stop scene is another really well put scene as it shows us easily how different this world is from ours. The cops in this world need to be "buzzed" to be able to use their weapon. Essentially it's a button someone presses back at the station so that the officers can use their guns. Nice idea, but as we saw it can end pretty badly, which introduces us to the main antagonists of the show. Which is probably by far my favorite part of this episode, Rorschach being an idol to this group of White Supremacist. This further pushes what Alan Moore was doing with Rorschach's character in the comic ada

Watchmen's impacts and imagery

Watchmen so far is a very intriguing graphic novel and has impacted comic books and cinema in a very interesting way. Batman is now an antihero, very much still a hero but he's dark and gritty, and very brutal with his different encounters with lowlifes. The 2009's Watchmen film was directed by Zack Snyder who also went on to direct, Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, and Snyder's Justice League, in these films you definitely see how Watchmen has affected the way he sees these fictional characters in that in Man of Steel we see many different Christ like imagery with Kal El.  We see similar imagery in some scenes in the graphic novel as some panels close in on Jon's face, with the father still reciting verses from the Bible. Following the other films Snyder places the Justice League in a realistic way, Batman as an anti hero, Superman as an idolized deity with lots of humans debating whether he's a Jesus character. Watchmen dives deeper in it's novel on that era
